“SHOP IN THE CENTRE” extends to another historical point of the city, at the Merchants Arcade! The vacant shops of the emblematic gallery, property of the EFCA, are granted by the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Social Solidarity to the Municipality of Athens as part of the pilot project for the utilization of the real estate of the supervising bodies FKA / OAED, under the title “Recovering Of the Historic Centre of Athens – Utilisation in terms of social return”.
The invitation for expression of interest for the Merchants Arcade addresses to the dynamic part of the community that engages in the social and cooperative economy, providing significant incentives to establish a business, such as rent and operational needs for six months, from October 2018 until March 2019. The aim of the action is to provide practical support to social entrepreneurship as well as the creation of a productive hub within the Arcade, which at the moment remains inactive and isolated.
